Headbands of Hope was started earlier this year by Jessica Ekstrom, a student at North Carolina State University, after she completed an internship at the Make a Wish Foundation.  While there, she saw many young girls lose their hair to cancer, and the impact it had on their self-esteem and confidence level, and decided she wanted to give them something to boost their spirits and make them smile when they looked in the mirror.  That is what lead her to create Headbands of Hope.

Headbands of Hope sells a wide selection of absolutely beautiful headbands, in many different shades and styles.  All of the headbands are manufactured right here in the US, by My Sunshine Shoppe in Bismarck, ND.  For every headband that is sold, one is donated to a girl who has lost her hair to cancer, and $1.00 is donated to St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving childhood cancer research.  To a girl who has lost her hair to cancer, a headband can mean quite a great deal.  It can help raise their self-esteem and confidence, make them feel pretty and feminine, and bring a smile to their face.  Isn’t this little girl just adorable?!

My friend’s daughter recently had the opportunity to receive one of these gorgeous headbands, and she absolutely loved it!  She was also very excited to tell all of her friends about the headbands, and how Headbands of Hope will donate a headband to a girl in need for every one that is sold.  Kirstyn has always had a huge heart, and loves to help others.  She received several flyers from Headbands of Hope, and passed them out at school to spread the word about this wonderful cause!

Kirstyn received the Beaded Beauties White Diamond Headband.  It’s elegant and sparkly, and just so stunning!
