My most memorable (though not exactly pleasant) was when we were younger and we were traveling along this long stretch of highway and all of a sudden there were tarantulas all over the road. Some were crawling, some were dead, but they were all over the road. Our stepdad got out of the car and got one into a plastic cup some how and stuck it up to the window of the car. We were amazed at seeing one so close but freaked out too. Like I said, it wasn’t exactly pleasant but it was memorable.

My most memorable road trip was when I was in college. It was around four hours away, and at the beginning and end of every semester, my parents would pick me up and drop me off.
The begining of one semester started out badly. When we had gotten about an hour from home, the transmission failed, and so we could only putt-putt along the highway at about 35 mph, so we pulled off, waited a few hours for a mechanic to put a band-aid on, and continued on. It worked for maybe another 30 minutes or so, then the transmission broke down again. We decided to just endure the rest of the way there. When we finally arrived, well past the time I usually do, my parents called a tow truck while my brother and I unloaded the car in record speed!

  44. Maegan Morin says:

A trip to my parents’ home with my few month old baby and she threw up all over her seat, herself, her snowsuit [yes, it was winter - so pulling over and cleaning it was more than a pain] and of course, the car seats. It was a projectile puke and was everywhere. After trying to salvage the suit, without chilling little Ella, and barely standing the smell of the car, we decided to admit defeat and head back to home. 66. Kasee Johnson says:

We travel often, and most of the time, our trips are nicely uneventful. But one that sticks out in my mind was a trip home from Lake Tahoe. As we were leaving Tahoe, winding down the hill toward Sacramento, my youngest decided that his sippy cup of milk didn’t sit well in his tummy. He puked everywhere. And after I smelled it, I puked, too. LUCKILY, we had all of our off-roading gear with us and we were able to trade the car seat from the side-by-side we were towing with the stinky car seat. Otherwise that would have been a really miserable 8 hour drive home!!
